Allyse Clegg

Rocketboys

Allyse Clegg graduated with a BA in Film Studies and a minor in Arabic. Along with editing for Brad Barber’s STATES OF AMERICA - on PBS - and Scott Christopherson’s KIDNAP THEORY, she has also worked as a cinematographer, sandbag carrier, and production assistant. Noteworthy projects include a web series created for the Jordanian women’s organization, Sadaqa and an experimental film series about recovering from sexual abuse titled CASSIDY. Most notably, she directed a few masterpieces as a 10-year-old that feature strong female leads; these remain in the home-movie vault. Rocketboys is her first feature.

Brad Barber

Peace Officer

Named to Variety's “10 Documakers to Watch” list in 2015, Brad Barber’s feature debut, PEACE OFFICER, which he directed, produced, and shot with Scott Christopherson, won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival, among other festival honors. Peace Officer went on to a nationwide theatrical release, earning multiple Cinema Eye Honors distinctions before airing on PBS's Independent Lens. Previously, Barber was nominated for an Emmy as an editor on the HBO documentary RESOLVED, for which he also served as an associate producer and cinematographer, and was awarded 5 regional Emmys for his documentary shorts series BEEHIVE STORIES. Barber’s latest project is STATES OF AMERICA, now streaming on PBS.org, the PBS app, and airing on WORLD Channel. He is currently a Professor of documentary film and married to artist and frequent collaborator Susan Krueger-Barber.

Jared Jakins

Scenes from the Glittering World

Jared Jakins is a South African-born documentarian. His work has screened in major film festivals around the world and appeared in publications such as The Atlantic. He is the film curator at Granary Arts Center in Ephraim, Utah. Jared is interested in stories of cultural intersection, and seeks to document images of community and identity emerging from these collisions. Scenes from the Glittering World is his feature debut.

Mallory Everton

Recovery

Mallory graduated from BYU with a BFA in film. she's best known for being one of the original writer-actors on the sketch comedy show Studio C and for her role in the Purple Mattress Raw Egg Test commercial. She also co-founded JK! Studios (where she writes and acts in comedic web series) and performed on NBC's Bring the Funny. She loves good food as well as writing, playing, and directing feral women.

Robert Machoian

The Killing of Two Lovers

Born in the small town of King City California, and raised up in the DIY Punk culture, Robert has been taking photographs his whole life and making films for well over a decade. His short films, and features have premiered at the Sundance, SXSW, LA and Tribeca Film Festival. Most recently his short film THE MINORS, won a Jury Prize for Directing a Sundance 2019. In 2020 Robert returned to Sundance with his first solo feature film THE KILLLING OF TWO LOVERS.

Scott Christopherson

The Insufferable Groo | The Lonely Master | Peace Officer | The Kidnap Theory

Scott was one of ten documentary filmmakers featured in Variety Magazine’s “Docu-makers to Watch” list in 2015. Scott’s debut feature film, Peace Officer, won both the Grand Jury and Audience Awards for best documentary at the SXSW Film Festival. Scott’s films have played at Hot Docs, Full Frame, Montclair, Camden, Traverse City, New Zealand International, Melbourne International, Taiwan, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Scott received his MFA in documentary cinema from San Francisco State University and also earned an MA degree in Anthropology from UW-Madison. He is fluent in the Thai and Lao languages and has shot several documentaries in Southeast Asia. He is currently an Assistant Professor of non-fiction film at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT.

Stephen Meek

Recovery

Stephen studied international relations, but veered into film after writing, directing, and performing in BYU's sketch comedy group, Divine Comedy, and later Studio C. He has directed, produced, and starred in many JK! Studios web series such as Freelancers and Evening Plans. When not directing, Stephen loves playing with his three sons--all toddlers, no multiples. It's a true circus.
